I actually booked the original band to P-Funk for a Players Ball about 4 years ago, they played already minus George.

And the venue at C2K made me cut them to only 30 minutes because they were dick heads, man did that manager of C2K fuck me that year.

I'm always keeping George in the running for every Players Ball.

The issue with this year is that we went with Cypress Hill, which is more expensive then George. With George, he has a ton of band members and backline requirements. The venue we're using has a very small stage, so they wouldn't fit.

BUT, I guarantee you, as long as George is still alive and funkin', we WILL have them play in the near future.

I'm friends with all of those guys, we go way back. Some of the band used to stay at my pad when they came in town. We're tight.

But don't worry, this years Players Ball features a live funk band behind Digital Underground, they sound just like P-Funk and even play some cuts like Knee Deep during their set. You'll shit, they're tight!
