well, as in my example above, if someone creates a rumour about me or my company and it's costing me thousands a day... I check into it, instead of just turning on the tv because me and my brain just discount those things.

Well MSNBC is a news organization with factual information. You have to decide whether you believe this sounds irregular to you or just "liberal whining." As far as the people with a brain, most of those voted for Kerry except for those like Karl Rove and the other Bush brain trust--Dubya not included because he isn't that smart--who decided to taget two states, Florida and clearly Ohio, to swing the election in their favor.
Florida was easy. Jeb's the governor. Ohio took a little more work but more votes than registered voters? That has to be explained a little better to me.

I approach threads at GFY with the same approach I have done with usenet for years.

Debating is fun and very informative as articles to support both sides are often posted that you may have missed on your own. The more info you have the better armed you are to extract the realities. Sometimes there are those who wish to push a skewed view with little support. I like to respond to those with facts not to influence their viewpoint (they either believe it or they are trolling) but to provide information to other readers who may be looking for more information on issues they may not know about.

Polls for example (the same ones the Republicans tout re: 'Moral Values') show that 60% of those polled remain in favor of abortion rights.

Better get that rabid dog on a leash. It's already biting the hand that feeds, attacking a moderate Republican like Specter (someone I'm comfortable with as a Democrat, btw).

Hopefully the Democratic party won't buy into this, and realize that they need NOT to become 'more Republican', but get ahold of a candidate that doesn't try and be all things to all people, and come up with a Democratic agenda that is not UFO far left, but neither does it cater to the neo-con far right (which will never vote Democrat anyway).

This nation is not found on the neo-con right or the tin foil hat left as a majority, but somewhere in the middle. Republicans better find that middle soon, or you are going to have serious problems next election, particularly if Iraq doesn't resolve equably.

Unfortunately, I have to run, so that gives you the opportunity to bash away if you feel like it. As always, it's been fun.
