    Rogers Wireless officially acquires Fido

    Awesome news. Rogers has officially acquired Fido. Fido subscribers will have access to Rogers' vastly superior coverage as of tomorrow!

          according to the FAQ, they have no intention of changing the way Fido is run. they plan on still running Fido and Rogers as two seperate brands.

          and if you're in a contract with Fido, your plan won't change even if Rogers decides to get rid of your plan 6 months down the road.

          as far as I can tell from the FAQ, this is nothing but good news for Fido subscribers.

                              Fido is the an awesome company, they always lower the prices and give more service.

                              Rogers on the other hand is a company i'd never have another cellphone with

                                          unlimited local calls... it's called CityFido. they have it in Toronto and Vancouver already. it's a plan devised to replace home telephones (which will be a viable idea now that the coverage will be better).

                                          and yes, you're right, it'll probably be coming to montreal as soon as a week or two from now.
