ANd yes., you should try them before you shave your head. You will loose your hair eventually even with the meds, so why not just hold on to it as long as you can and then shave it off? Its not like they are expensive anyways..

I've been using propecia for a year now and it worked great for me. If you start using it early enough it works great. Basically stops you from losing MORE hair at least. Combining with minoxidil will grow back more, but minoxidil is a pain in the ass.
Some dudes can pull off shaving their head... others (me) look retarded
