    I had a baby - home now

    My girlfriend gave birth on monday to my first baby, 3350 grams and 51 centimeters ( 118.168 oz and 20.079 inches ), a girl
    Been alot of stress lately before the birth, but happy it is all over now.
    Everything is fine with the baby, and we are all home.
    Not gonna post any pictures, but she is the prettiest baby ever ( much like her dad actually ).

    Big experience, got a HUGE dose of reality during the birth. ( Will be the last birth I ever attend, that is pretty damn sure )
    She sleeps most of the day and cries a bit, but I got a good sleep last night.
    Anyways, just thought I'd share.

      Congratulations....yeah. it IS an eye opener to see a baby being born. Glad to hear you both survived the experience.

                                                      Yeah, I was almost passing out and throwing up at the same time.
                                                      My girlfriend did real well actually, it was over quite fast when it first started.

                                                      Everything was forgotten once the baby had come out though, never been that happy in my life

                                                                                      You are right, seeing a birth is a huge dose of reality! I watched my sister-in-law give birth to my nephew (future nephew) and it was a total life changing experience.

I'm glad your girlfriend went through it relatively fast. Personally, childbirth gave my life true substance and meaning. Never, ever felt more 'human' or in touch with myself than when I was pregnant and giving birth. Everything after that was just more rewardng & sweeter icing on the cake.                                                                                                                                                                   Two names, one is Norwegian, my grandmothers name, and the other one is more spanish. Figured that would give her a choice of what to use, depending which country she'll be in later..
