You all have it wrong. I have been following this one for awhile. Here is the real deal. Nick has been suffering from his fumble career ever since 98 Degrees. Jessica still hasn't hit the peak of her career. Nick really doesn't have anything going on while Jessica is on fire. Hence, Nick has been suffering an inferior complex for a long time and it is finally coming to a head. This should be a great move for Jessica's career because Nick has nothing to offer.
