    xbox360 why all the excitement

    Not like they're going to be sold out forever. You waited this long for it, just wait a little longer until more come out. Forget paying more than what its worth on ebay and all that.

    No offense to the 360 I'm sure it's a killer system but I'm holding tight for the PLAYSTATION 3 baby.........

      I'm gonna get both, they will both be great fun... no point bashing one because you are getting the other.


      Might get the revolution for some fun with friends as well, Nintendos are always fun multiplayer consoles.

          When is PS3 scheduled to be launched?

          I was going to pick up a 360 for my niece and nephew but I refuse to pay the $500.00 right now just for the console. Plus Ithink the PS3 will be a better choice! I heard on the radio that Playstation has 80% of the market share, that seems impressive to me.

          Any opinions? What should I do

                      CNBC reported that XBOX will grab more marketshare that PS3 will not be able to wrestle away... possibly up to 45%, keeping Sony in the lead but reducing marketshare to only 55-60% even after the PS3 launches. They expect XBOX Live's numbers to increase to 3-3.5M paid subs within 2 years.

                      Funny thing is they didn't even factor in Nintendo's marketshare... like the Nintendo and the nextgen "Nintendo Revolution" is a non-issue.

                      doesn't matter to me, I'm buying all 3.

                              but some publishers/developers believe PS3 won't be ready until Q4-2006 or even 2007. If Sony waits that long they may lose their hold on the market... besides they want to launch asap before the 2nd & 3rd game-wave for XBOX 360 and definitely want to launch before Halo 3 has a chance to be wrapped up. If they give MS/Bungie too much development time to finish Halo 3, then MS will launch Halo 3 on the PS3's launch date and that will definitely have an impact on sales.

                              Nintendo is like a lost (under)dog right now. I hope they have something amazing planned. maybe MS will buy out Nintendo and reshape the entire gaming industry... very unlikely but would be amazing.

                                              Just my opinion but I really don't think it matters when P3 comes out. There is no chance 360 will come anywhere near it.
                                              Playstation is backed baby. There is no competiton.
                                              The comp is more likely between the new nintendo and the 360. P3 in a league by itself.
                                              Nintedo to by the way still has a huge following, mainly with the kiddies but a huge following nontheless.

                                                  If MS wanted to, it could buyout EA Games tomorrow. That one move alone would have a serious impact and/or deathblow for Sony considering the EA fan base and exclusive agreements with Sports franchises, etc.

                                                  Plus, XBOX is moving into the Games On Demand direction very swiftly, they're positioning themselves right. PS is a juggernaut with a loyal cult-like following and will definitely remain the leader... but it'll be close... and it DOES make a difference when they choose to launch the PS3... they can't wait too long for the 360 to get a foothold in the average/new gamers living-room/media-center. The hardcore gamers will buy all consoles, the new crop will only need one box to be their "entertainment on demand" console.

                                                  Plus when the Halo movies comes out, there'll be a whole new crop of gamers buying the Halo 1,2,3 trilogy gamepack... and they'll be buying 360's to play them. Halo is the killer app for XBOX and if they do re-master Halo 1 and/or 2 for hardcore fans and make it playable on XBOX Live via 360 (either 16 or 32 players) they could bring in another 50-100,000,000 in sales on that re-release alone.

                                                  Right now, MS is it's own worst enemy, with Sony close behind. If MS can't fill all the pre-orders, holiday orders, etc, they'll be killing the 360's launch momentum.

                                                      Playstation 3 is more likely to be released in 2007 than 2006. This is due to the current price of the technology in the thing. Nobody is going to buy a $600 system. Haha except for maybe me when my parents bought me a Neo Geo.

If Nintendo, Atari and Sega can fall then Playstation can just as easily in the face of competition with MS. Nothing is certain. Nintendo might even be relinquishing it's handheld dominence. heh.

                                                                                          One of the biggest problems with the XBOX is it's damn controller. And the 360s is practically the same.
                                                                                          There are conversions for the XBOX to plug your P2 controller into it to play it. Thats what I'm talkin about.......owned!

                                                                                                                  Most large game developers/publishers say they are unsure if they will even fill the 9GB up, much less the 23GB. Plus do not discount the hard drive expansions, xbox's rumored 100GB Hard drive add-on in 2006/2007 and "games on demand".

                                                                                                                  and yes, Blue-ray is amazing, that's why I'm also buying the PS3.

                                                                                                                              They had to cut shipments to the States so they could supply Europe, too. Have you really been told March? Damn, that really sucks.

                                                                                                                              I would think 4-6 weekly shipments would help fulfill all pre-orders and start to level out supply, guess not.

I didnt think it was possible , but MS is really getting some leaverage here. Either way , there are a lot of people still waiting for the PS3 because its suppose to be 3 times as powerful as XBOX. So that should give people reason to choose ps over ms when it does come out.

The XBOX is pretty much non existant there... It's not mainly for kids they make games for the general audience...
