Photography is very much about pointing a camera and recording what is there. Pornography is about stimulating something in the viewers imagination. Now you can hipe to do that by laying out a girl naked or you can put the look on her face, the angle of body or pose and the setting to create the illusion.
Watch MTV if you want to really learn what I'm talking about. Here they have the budgets to get it right but the sexuality and fantasy is clear.

Paul, I have HUGE respect and love for your work. I don't care how "pretty" a model is - if she looks bored and has no spark then forget it. I don't care how great the lighting is or the make up or the retouching or whatever... to me, most Playboy type shots are so sterile, lifeless, and antiseptic as to be hardly erotic.
Your work is fantastic on many levels from a professional standpoint - but most importantly you find the spark - that one angle or expression or moment - that x factor that makes the shot hot in sexual way.
