It was at the age of thirteen that our founder and president entered into one of his first big ventures, which was filming and editing skateboarding videos. He says, "I started out as this little poser kid with my grandpas old Hi-8 camcorder and before you knew it I had all the top skaters in the city hitting me up wanting me to film." At the young age of seventeen he filmed, edited and produced skateboarding videos. The videos were sold in local skate shops and on the streets for $15 each; they also won a few film festivals. He built a huge name for himself within his local skateboarding community with his one of a kind videos. Not everyone bought the videos just for the skateboarding though; people loved the end of the skate videos which were filled with the skateboarders goofing off, fighting and a bunch of other crazy stuff. Little did he know that his next big venture was forming right in front of his eyes. He started getting offers to film for major skate companies but was never really passionate enough to pursue any full-time offers because he felt he would be under paid. He had ambitions to produce some mainstream skate videos but due to his lack of funding it was near impossible for him to do. However, his clips have appeared on several skateboarding videos. He has also licensed skateboarding clips to shows such as: Real TV, Fox, MTV and many more.
At the age of seventeen while still producing skateboard videos he really took a closer look at his market audience; he realized that most of the people that didn't skateboard would buy the skate videos just to fast forward them to watch all the fights and goofing off at the end. So like any smart business man would do he started making compilation videos of just the endings of his skateboard videos and sold them for $20 a pop. His project got a little bigger than he had expected. He personally sold a few hundred copies but by the time he was 18 there were several thousand copies of his videos throughout the world.
He started college in 2000 and dropped out in 2002 after attending for two years in order to pursue his business in marketing the newly deregulated telecom industry at the young age of twenty. He managed over 175 people, had thousands of customers and gave motivational speeches, training's and seminars to large groups of people sometimes twice or even triple his age. Several of his peers from this company now own multi-million dollar real estate companies, night clubs and other very profitable businesses.
It was in 2003 when he started professionally producing reality dvds. The dvds were an instant world-wide hit, selling tens of thousands of copies. Because of his contacts he got into the wholesale, licensing as well as the retail side of the business. His company, WTF Entertainment, LLC. to this day stands out in their niche market as an industry leader. Several of the videos from his licensing division can be seen on shows such as Tru TV, Fox, BET, MTV, NBC and many more.
"Sometimes people that didn't have a clue about business would talk negative about my line of work and thought I was just some young punk filming some BS; they were wrong I was a young punk filming BS people really wanted to watch. Really I was just an entrepreneur that exploited a profitable untapped market that I had a good grip on. It was a little bit of hard work and a little bit of luck. Followed by my productions there were several hundred copy cat videos created as well and instead of letting them steal our lime-light my company profited off them by selling those titles as well to all our wholesale clients. We really defined and put the the reality / special interest niche on the map" he says.
