Still to this day some of my best reads !

Bukowski was one of a kind...as brilliant as he was crazy...

Guy was an artist - absolutely bitter and real - what's really sad is reading tough guy actor Michael Madsen's poetry books... he's a wanna be Bukowski and SUCKS so BAD!!!

Love that author. Think I've read the books I have from him at least twice; Bone Palace Ballet, Run With the Hunted, Pulp, Screams from the Balcony, Open All Night.

did everyone download that mp3 file at the end?? that was fucking great. you could hear the hatered in his heart for entertaining those white college kids. the hippy movement seemed to embrace him, but he hated them. he knew they were nothing but a bunch of privilaged white suburban rich kids who had absolutely no replacement for the system they were trying to tear down. great shit. i'd like to hear more.

exactly. i love that part where he says "i'll come down there and clean out all you babies. i'm a tough son of a bitch." naive kids just clapping away.

If you like Bukowski definatly check out Steven Jesse Bernstein.
Another amazing tortured poet who was the real deal and pulled no punches.

he released a spoken word album on the subpop lable a few years back that is exceptional.... Released after his suicide.
