              It very well could be he is being forced out too, maybe due to pressure from within? I find it hard to believe he would just resign without pressure from the big guy.

                                              Doesnt he have something wrong with his Pancreas, and he's getting very ill? I thought that is the reaason he may resign. I don't think it will matter too much tho, the conservatives hold the house, senate and presidency, so who ever they bring in will be very similar to Ashcroft.
