it's not really weird considering they'd only go after stolen rides n stuff and that's just not worth it.. otherwise the license plate is enough and then no chasing needed.Comment

There are no specific exceptions. If a cop exceeds the cop speed limit in pursuit, he has to justify it afterwards or face punishment. They have a "speed limit" on cops in lots of places in the US. If their speed and/or the speed increase of the offender (because of the chase) increases risk to the general public, they have to abandon the chase.Comment

i think that is a pretty good idea. most high speed chases end with alot of collateral damage to civilians.
