I'm looking for a good external video light that will mount on my GL2, or on this new Panasonic if I buy it. I don't want to spend $350 on the light either, just something that will do the trick.

I have never had any luck with on-camera lights, they all seem to be very directional and under-powered. For $200-$300 you should be able to find some nice hot lights, at least one or two with stands in some kind of kit. I see them on aBay all the time.Want to promote SUCCUBUS? I have one of those lights and they are a waste of money. If you are lucky they last 15 mins the color of the light is yellow and there is no mains cable to allow direct use when the battery charge runs out. If you are spending thousands on a good video camera why use a cheap $40 light it doesn't make sense ?

http://www.frezzi.com/mini-fil1.htm is the one I use, with a dual battery belt. The dimmer switch really comes in handy.
