          I haven't tried that yet but I guess it's great since sms messaging through mobile phone costs alot. I am interested on this.

                                  Cingular has international sms, works fine, 20 cents a message to most cell phones in europe, check out their webstie for details

                                          As long as the USA carrier is GSM ie T-Mobile or Cingular, if you are on a European phone and roaming...SMS as WAY cheaper than either making or accepting a call. And has worked great for me in the past before I moved here.

                                          I believe sending SMS from a US phone no. to EU costs not much more than normal SMS.

                                          There are always websites that you can send to EU for free of course
