I was a smoker for over 15 years. It's been quite a while since I stopped cold turkey. The cravings never fully go away... they do tend to follow a pattern--the first cravings are physical in nature, the middle cravings are psychological, and the final wave of cravings are 'triggered' usually by stress or memories of smoking. This is not in any way scientific, just based on my personal experience.
