How to take off Windows XP login if you forgot password?

My friend had a password setup on his windows XP so everytime he logged off, he had to put in a pass to login again...common thing...

The problem is he forgot the pass. Hehe, so now he can't login...

I know there is a way to remove the pass or reset the pass, but can't find anything on it in google. Who has a link to the instructions?

    Thanks much!

press f8 or what ever it takes to log in. log into safe mood. once you are in safe mode, you are logged in as admin go to users in the control panel, click the user you want and change the password

I have a cd that you place in your pc and when you start your pc up, you get an option to edit a password for a user login account without knowing the current password. I can send you a copy of the cd - do you need it in a rush?

That works. Another good one is hit CTRL+ALT+DEL when the login window appears and log in as Administrator with blank password. Most XP installations never use a password-protected Administrator account.

by creating a new user and not recovering the old password may still result in an issue of geting the shit he has off, personal settings yadi yadi simply following the link above end of story its that easy.

Thats if you know any admin passwords. If he doesn't know any at all, then he can use my cd. You don't need to know any login details or anything.
