Have you ever been called on one of these Polls?

I've never gotten called before. Wondering how many people are sampled.

I think this year the polls are going to be way off because of their limited sampling.

2 Million people have already voted in Florida for example. Record turnouts everywhere.

Yes... seems like every other day I get a call for a poll. The first few were interesting... now they just piss me off.

SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.

I got 3 calls yesterday from Kerry's people asking me to go door to door all day long urging people to vote for Kerry.

I was called once during the primaries.

I wonder out loud about a few things

        1. They do not call cell phone users, a lot of people no longer have land lines

        2. Can they call someone on the do not call list, or is that just a commercial limitation?

If either of the above it true the polls are not meaningful but the spin on them influsences the sheep.

I've never been called but the polls are used to sway people to who the pollsters want... That's why they go to either a republican or democratic hotbed and try to pass it off that everybody votes the way of the poll...

I believe I had a ?canvasser? call and attempt to ask me some questions. I first asked them if they could call back another day (they called right in the middle of a Yankees vs. Red Sox playoff game).

              No pollsters though!

In fact, nobody I know has ever been polled.

For the last 20 years ( since I"ve been elegable to vote ), I had been called a grand total of ZERO times as part of a poll..

Now this year, I've been polled no less than 5 times...

                Zogby, Survey USA, and others...

I've been polled in the past. Had just once call this year, but declined, as I didn't recognize the organization conducting the poll.

I've been called with 8 or so pre-recorded political messages, from both major parties.

The organizations conducting the polls can definitely introduce bias, though for the major ones, I think it's usually uninintentional. (Except openly partisan groups like DCorps). Pollingreport.com has a good summary of national polls, along with exact wording of questions. Bias goes beyond wording, however; people may respond differently, including just hanging up, depending on whether they're polled by someone with a southern accent or a bronx accent. The LA Times has been criticized as skewing democratic because of the people conducting the polls.

Seems to be leaning to Kerry. But they're already saying the new electronic Florida voting system has some flaws that enables people to vote twice.

They are now sending people to our door, too..under the guise of encouraging us to vote..

In reality, it's just another poll.

Both sides are doing it here.

My apologies if this has been posted before:

Only 38% of Floridians are registered Republicans.

I can't see so many of these people rushing to vote to be doing so for Bush.

The Democrats have run an enormous get out the vote campaign.

The flaw is with the absentee system which apparently doesn't cross check the electronic system's database.
