I'm assuming the cellular internet works much like text messages because even when the cell coverage was minimal to nill you could send text messages. I could care less about phone service but I do need net access. A generator to charge laptop batteries and cellular internet access would be fine. Nice to see you went that route and it is working for you.

Yes Cell service was down as well For 3 days and we did have text . But that was Sprint and T Mobile . We did have a generator and enough to get us through 4 days of food and BEER ! This storm turned me into an alchoholic . But after that Cable said same thing (about power coming back) and than phone went out stating they can only work off of generator for so long . So we were left with nothing again . So when yuo have to fend for yourself your right . So I went and ordered a satelite for internet but with this working so well Im going to wait till next season to have it installed ... They also cant install that till next tuesday . My direct tv dish looked like a pretzel but I banged out and got it to work asap . We got power up quick beng on the hospital grid and all so that worked out great. Also I made the mistake of putting my business lines on Vonage ... so no internet no business lines either . Before next season I will Have
Satellite Internet Installed
The Diesel Generator That Runs the Whole Business wired in to switch on.
Direct TV
Freezer full of meets
And a Kegerator ..
Than We would be set ..
We did have FEMA come out to survey our damage ... ( roof damage and 80 feet of fencing blown down .) and its looking good for the loan @ 2%
Here are some some clips of what It looked like here . Now I have High Speed I will make longer ones that show the aftermath as well ...
