I have never met a stripper or porn star with any kind of insurance and its always made me laugh. These girls can spend 1000's of dollars a month on shoes, make up, getting their tits filled with silicone (how much are boob jobs), yet none take the time or money to worry about their health.

Anyone who knows strippers and porn stars, KNOWS how much these girls blow through - I have seen stripper friends make $700 a night - and not have life insurance or health insurance.

And its times like this that really show why these things are important.

BTW this isnt an "update" - you dont even mention how she is doing.

I agree though, this isn't much of an "update" at all.

You can get a catastropic plan (hospital and surgery only) with a high deductible for less than $100 a month if you're under 40.

I pay $333 but it's awesome coverage.

I hope she get's better soon, if she can't pay there is a way to get the hospital bill taken care of. When she get's out she'll have to write a letter and ask them to "forgive" the bill because she's indigent.


My step dad was the director of a few VA hospitals and told me this when I had a huge bill and no insurance so I know it works. The hospital get so much $$ from the state to cover this. But you do have to write a letter and use the words "please forgive my bill because I'm indigent."

BTW, You do not need money to pay for hospital bills... When they are done with it, she can prove that she can not make any money and will be paying $50 a month for the rest of her life.

That would work, Turbo but the problem is that she's not indigent and they [the hospital] can prove that. If she, or anyone on her behalf attempts to file for a forgiveness due to indigency then she can be charged with fraud.

If you don't have medical insurance that would make you indigent. I know that everyone never listens to me but I do know she can do the letter. Like I said my step dad was the director of a few VA hospitals, he's now left the VA after 35 years and he's the one that told me.

You gave me this advice about 2 years ago when I didn't have medical insurance and racked up quite a nice medical bill of $9k at the emergency room. I wrote a letter claiming to be indigent and received a reply from the accounting department of the hospital with a payment plan instead of having my bills forgiven. They found out how much I made and based the payment plan on that. Since then I have paid off the $9k but they did not forgive the bill at all.

However, if I decided to not pay the bill it could not affect my credit in a negative way.

I highly doubt that any ONE model can make any ONE producer rich just from shooting with them a few times for a few sets. That's kinda pushing it. Yes, I symphatize for her of what happened. But that doesn't negate the fact that this donation is simply supporting the photographer she shot with's liability.

There are many independent designers on this board that have made many webmasters rich from their designs but if they got in a car accident and was hospitalized. Would the person he got in a car accident with come on this board asking for donations to pay for him? And then give the guilt trip that he made us webmasters he worked for rich and that we owe him something?

Seriously, what is $100 a month for health insurance? I don't know Nikki personally but I have met her. Should have bought less name brand clothing and bought insurance huh?

"I just spoke with the head nurse on duty. Nikki has started to wake up. They said she is starting to respond to basic commands like hold your right hand up and she did then hold your left thumb up and she did. They said she is doing better than yesterday. I nor her mother have talked to the main neurologist yet but I should talk to him within the next hour. I am on my way back down and they finally said I can get in and see her. Her next CT Scan will most likely be tomorrow sometime. She was taken off the sedation medication around 4am but is still on a breathing machine as she needs help breathing. But from what they tell me, she does seem to be getting better than worse. I am bringing my laptop with me so I will do my best to post new info as it comes in. I will also try to get an address setup for those of you that would like to send flowers and get well wishes. Thank you all for your support so far. Nikki is truly lucky to have so many good friends praying for her."

I find it absolutely disgusting, the number of people here speculating on "Has she ever posted here on GFY?"

One of the things about this industry ESPECIALLY when it is online, is that you work alongside a LOT of people, and one of the things that has always made me proud is the way this industry pulls together to help one of their own. This is a model who is in serious condition, and instead of having a little heart for someone else in the industry, you're demanding to know "Why didn't she have medicare?" and "Has she ever posted here?" Is it relevant? There's some out there who could turn around & ask "Have I ever paid you for promoting her?" but instead you are basing this all on whether or not she posts on this one webforum?

I find it interesting in this industry too that everybody feels quite free to flat out ask "So how much do you make?" which in any other line of work, is not a question that would go over very well. I've been asked that particular question plenty in the last month & now here I see a similar situation.... people asking why Nikki didn't have medical coverage. Why not just ask to see her bookkeeping records & the rest? Yes I'm sure she DID have a reason for not buying medicare. And yes, Adam is in no position to be discussing Nikki's reasons, because her reasons were probably personal.

I'm sure there's plenty who do not care, (seems pretty obvious from some of the displays here) but regardless of the nature of this board and all its melodrama and all the surfers and all the trolls, this is supposed to be a place of business. There are people here who really do need to keep in mind that while they may have plenty of personal fun on the boards, that they are still within a "Place of business" and that often they are representing MORE than just themselves, and their words & actions reflect upon the company they are with, and have the potential to hurt those that they work with.

I'm not going to sit & speculate about messageboard posts & other information that is none of my business, but as someone who does work in this industry I am going to feel for a badly injured icon who works in the same industry as me, and do what I can to aid in her recovery.

Why is it terrible? This person never posted here. This person makes alot of money, she far from poor. Helping others is about helping those in need, not those who didnt plan for the future. Now alot of this is based on this King Adam guy saying we dont know what Nikki feels about this and she might be pissed off about this when she comes too. I feel sorry for the girl but part of me thinks it would be very sad everyone rushes to help a girl who has made 100's of thousands of dollars and next week some web model who makes 1000 a month posted on this board needs our help and no one is there for her.

I recall seeing Nikki on Howard Stern--he seemed VERY impressed by her. Hopefully, since kb has been on the Howard Stern Show and has connections, he can quickly and easily convince Howard to expeditiously make a nice/huge donation towards Nikki's treatment and recovery; then, near-term at least, folks can focus primarily upon her health and well-being, not just the ongoing financial chit-chat postings?!

No matter what/how/if/why we have a God in our individual lives, let's keep Nikki in our hearts and minds, and prayers too!
