Professional video shooters in here please

I have a question for anyone that shoots video or has had videos produced for them.

I'm looking to hire someone to shoot a promotional video for a high-end piece of real estate. It will feature shots from around the house, outside and inside. The final video will only be about 3 or 4 minutes long, but I assume it will require about 3 to 4 hours of shooting and probably 3 to 4 hours of editing to produce that 3-4 minutes of video.

    Questions:

Do my time assumptions sound realistic to produce 3 to 4 minutes of video?

How much should I expect to pay for the video to be shot? And how much should I expect to pay for the raw video to be edited into the final version?
I post on GFY so that when people ask me what I do,
I can tell them that I work with the mentally retarded.

thats sound way out of the ballpark, but it really depends on how high end you want to make the final product. But 6 + hours of editing and shooting for 3-4 minutes of final product seems way too much time. Where is the property?

OK, it's nice to hear that you think it won't need that much time, but I like to overestimate on things just in case. Do any of you shoot video? or are you just making assumptions too?

I checked with a friend of my who is a high market real estate agent.

The biggest way to interfere and add time and cost is to **not** have a very good idea of what you want to feature.

And what kind of effects you want in the video. Consider intro, transitions, ending. Music. Any lettering.

Don't do this, and your time estimates are correct. Do it, and cut them in half.

              Good luck.

I am a videographer adult and mainstream, I had a friend who looked into to shooting for a company who booked videographers who shot for real estate people. Going into a home and doing a video presentation on the home. They expected you to be done shooting in a hour tops. That was a normal home I have questions:

How big of a home is it?

Are the rooms and ceilings high and huge, so lighting is going to take a while?
Have you seen examples of other videos they have had shot like this? They usually follow a formular.

Brisk, all prices vary greatly but personally I would charge you $30-$45 per hour (with a 3 hours minimum pay) and maybe even more if I was working for someone. What you want done would probably take about 1 hour or so to film and 2 hours or so to edit.
