Dont know what country you are from, but the only thing they can do is remove you from the building. You can continue on the sidewalk, and they can not stop you.

it's an extreme example. they could have you arrested for tresspassing/disturbing the peace. On their property, they call the shots.
you're right though you could leave their property and say whatever you want. so long as it's not slander or libel.
