I miss the West Wing - great show.....

And in fact we were talking about that similarities just the other day...... Looks like their TV just became real.

The West Wing depiction is definitely how most of us wish our government was run.

From what I've seen so far the Obama administration might be as close as we ever get to that ideal.

did you actually watch the west wing?
if you did, and you'd actually want that shit (ya know the lying president, with the crippling disease he forgot to mention, with the smoking habit, and serious father issues , the alchoholic/drug addict COS, the alchoholic/affair having VP, the sleeping with prostitutes/spilling goverment secrets/fucking members of the press staff, the illegal assassinations/bombings, everyone getting shot cause zoe was banging charlie, the first lady self/spouse medicating.. and not to mention the shady tactics they used to actually get pretty much anything accomplished)... i feel bad for ya.

on that note, still one of my favorite shows...
i've seen it from beginning to end 3 times.

Boy don't you have a dark take on things....and fuck if you want to bring up every character flaw every person ever had then nobody who ever lived should be President or work at the white house.

I just meant that it would be great to have a really smart guy who was intellectually curious and interested in doing the right thing as President....along with a staff of intelligent and dedicated people working hard to make America a better place to live.

I'm happy that we have a guy now (or coming...on the 20th) who is a pragmatist and not an ideologue who will do what works rather than what he thinks God wants.

I started watching season one this week. A lot of good concepts that apply today. What is the virtue of a proportionate response. Clearly a debate that should be going on in gaza.

I really miss that show. I have all the DVDs back home.

That's my all time second favorite show, after The Sopranos only.

Maybe The Office is a close third. :P
