It would take me a novel to explain to you the situation in the US.. but basically we have totally lost control of our borders and are in a low level civil war between the republicans and democrats (blue states vs red states)
You will start to see more and more indications that Americans political system is crumbling... Katrina Hurricane was just one example, Today's closure of the Senate is another
America's instability is going to effect the world economy. I think we still have a few more years... but after 2008 things are going to start to get very dangerous here in the states
Please be prepared in Australia... watch the US politics very closely
