Lol, it's not my first flight. It's because I fly from The Netherlands to the USA. Normally it was 2 hours before. Now sinde 2 weeks, the USA has new "security" checks.

It's at least 2 hours prior from Australia to the USA....

But I go when I please and spend the time in the Ambassadors Lounge.. free food, free drink and my laptop on my lap.

Lol like it matters how long the flight is. I goto Seattle, that is 10.5 hours. When i fly to NY, it's like 5-6 hours, and also 4 hours in advance.

I hope they will stop these extra checks soon, or will do it quicker.

I was in Atlanta travelling via Milan from Denmark last weekend and it was 2 hours before on Alitalia/Delta.

But the security checks are nuts, first time I had to remove my shoes and go thru a security check to enter a country.

Yeah went to the states.
Arriving there is a nightmare. I think we went thru 2 security checks, customs and immigration in Atlanta to get into the country and ofcause there were a long line at every place

You have to do that when entering almost every country. I had to do that flying in to Brussels, Prague, etc.

The new security is BS but when you have people hijacking planes with box cutters and trying to blow up the plane with their shoe you can see why they have extra screening... Personally I would rather get through security 2 hours quicker and take my chances! ;)
