Rapper Cam'ron Shot During Attempted Carjacking
Published: 2005-10-25
Hip hop star Cam?ron was shot early Sunday morning during an attempted carjacking in Washington, D.C. The rapper was driving his 2006 Lamborghini when two men pulled alongside him at a traffic light and opened fire.
He was hit by one bullet, which traveled through one arm and into his other. Luckily, he had the presence of mind to drive himself to Washington?s Howard University Hospital, where he received treatment. The platinum-selling star was released on Sunday afternoon and is now back home in New York City.
Despite the harrowing attempt on his life, the rapper remained defiant. ?People are foolish if they think I?m going to lose my head and give up anything to anyone just because someone threatens me,? he said in a statement. ?I'm doing OK. It takes more than a botched carjacking to keep me down.?
Camron?s upcoming album, Killa Season will be released next February on his own Diplomat Records label; a film of the same name will be released at the same time.
