When I first went to adult industry parties or shows, ppl asked what I do - I would always say "oh, I'm an affiliate - mostly cam sites", etc. The response was almost inevitably "oh, you're a webmaster."

No, I'm not.

Maybe that's the industry term for it, but back in the real world it's usually someone who maintains a site (or network) from a technical/admin angle. Perhaps they code, etc. but it's basically a propellor-head job.

Web Developer does web site coding.
Web Designer does the pretty stuff.

So I am an affiliate - my role is more marketing, SEO and yes, some development - but I haven't touched a web server or set up anything technically (ie database backend, software installs, etc.) for years. If someone in the mainstream world asks ... oh, like border security ... I say am an "Internet Marketing Consultant"
