:stop Solo Site Discussion

Please don't fuck this thread up with sig spots... lets get an actual discussion going here...

So what do you guys think the best business model is for having a solo site? Is it better to do a partnership and have the girl extremely involved in her site so the rebills are amazing?

or would you rather pay the girl per shoot, have someone else do the diary entries and you own all the content of the girl.. the benefit of this business model is that even if the girl flakes, you will still own everything 100% and can still update for years to come after the girl flakes.... (assuming you're smart enough to shoot years of content in advance, something i fucked up on myself in the past)

However, with the second business model, you will not be retaining as amazingly as the first business model... but its also a lot safer... bigger companies like lightspeed can do both business models and retain amazingly of course, but i'm talking more about the smaller affiliate programs...

its not my business to point out which solo sites have flaked already and use them as examples... but we all know solo girls have a tendency to flake..hell even julia blue flaked.... doesn't mean i don't have enough content to keep updating every week for years... one of the best pieces of advice I've ever received regarding solo sites was from steve lightspeed "it's not IF they are going to flake, its when" . and that has proven true time and time again.

Sometimes i wonder if solo sites are even worth producing, you have so many different things to deal with.... the stress alone from arguing with your model once they get too greedy can make it not worth it, and on top of that you have the "so and so saw my site... can you take it down please"... lucky for me my solo girls boyfriend is a geek so i don't have to worry about drama with him regarding my site, but a lot of people have to deal with the jealous boyfriends and other bullshit that comes along with having a solo site.

so whats your take? are they worth doing for people entering the business? the thing that is really attractive about solo sites is that the start up cost is extremely low compared to starting another fully exclusive site..

what are your thoughts? what are your suggestions to people thinking of starting solo sites?
