in the timeline of the human experience the "slavery" of blacks by "white" men is a relatively recent event.
it is true that slavery is morally repugnant, but i doubt the BMW driving "africa american" would prefer living in a tent and tending sheep in west africa like his distant relatives are doing today.
go back far enough and every one of us has had genetic relatives "enslaved" by others.
folks need to get over it, move forward, and be responsible for their own lives---not blame history for being a fuckup.
in america public libraries are free, you can educate yourself if you have the desire, and you don't really need afirmative action to get your act together.
