How I got out of jury duty..

I was suppose to show up for Jury Duty at 8:00am this morning. Well I woke up at 8:30.

So I call and tell them I missed Jury duty cause I am sick. She says ok can you come tomorrow? I say no I'm gonna be sick. she said ok how about the next day? I said no I'm gonna be sick that day too.

So she says well I can postpone it until January. So I told her I wanted to write a letter explaining how I am a business owner and can't really fuck around in court for two weeks.

So she just kind of laughed and said ok I'll dismiss it.

If I worked a 9-5 job for the man, I would gladly do jury duty. But I have a business to run and can't hear a case on whether a crack head should go to jail or not.

i did some stupid shit a long time ago and got in trouble when i was like 14 or 15. i use that and get dismissed every time. it works like a charm.

Actually served earlier this month, well did not serve since I was dismissed early on but I attended.

I also run a business and honestly do not see that as an excuse to ditch this civic duty.

i went in to jury duty a few months ago. Out of 20 people i was the first one to be called up and screened. They explained the case. Then asked me if theres gonna be any issue with me being unbiased. I said yes. They asked what the problem was. I said the guy looked guilty as fuck, so im voting guilty, i dont give a shit if he did it or not.

I think affiliates would rather have me making sure our sites are working and converting well for them, rather than sitting in a waiting room, just to tell a judge my story and then be dismissed. But then again what does my little program know about business...

What I said isn't about knowing business, which I'm sure you do, but rather about being trustworthy. I generally like to do business with people who won't make up random excuses if something goes wrong, and I think that goes for many people.

i filled a questionaire out and mailed it back twice got out both times. one of my friends went for jury duty for like 2 weeks straight before and it cost him more between parking and lunch than he actually made.
