ive started controlling my panic attacks naturally - it was quite easy actually (and i have severe panic disorder, multiple visits to the e.r., the whole nine yards) ... i just decided that if i hadnt died in ten fucking years then obviously im bullshitting myself.

shitting, vertigo, mood swings, heavy confusion, that wierd sound when you turn your eyes, disassociation, depresssion.
i went back to 10mg, now back to 20mg - really pisses me off cause i DONT NEED this shit anymore, i havent had a panic attack since i realized i can talk myself out of it. but i cannot handle the withdrawals - they make me useless.
so now im at 20mg, i refuse to take more, even though i still have withdrawal symptoms. there is a liquid form im gonna get and if i have to, go to 19mg for a month, 18mg for a month, ... whatever. this helped in the beginning, but HOLY HELL if someone prescribes it to you, tell them to go fuck themselves. I dont know how i will get off of it. I know im in for a fucking wild ride.Comment

I was on that for a couple years in college, it helped get me out of the daily drunkard routine. I definitely had symptoms coming off of it, but they weren't unbearable, just very inconvenient. I went to Zoloft after Paxil and it was better, with fewer side effects.
You know if you find a way to get some strenous exercise on a regular basis, it'll do wonders for your anxiety condition. I recommend signing up for a BJJ class, or maybe Yoga. Anything that you really like that's also really difficult and will get you moving around and working.Comment

Whoa, withdrawl from that stuff sounds completely nasty. I used to have to go into the detox ward to take blood several years ago and I was more afraid of them than I was of the people in the psych ward. Of course, being locked in a jail cell with people charged with murder telling you they will kill you if it hurts wasn't exactly fun either.Comment

Then the flu hit, I couldn't stay away from the bathroom. I spent the rest of the night sitting up in my bed with my heart beating and my head pounding. The next morning, when I got up out of bed, I collapsed from the vertigo.
The only thing that helped, after reading all those damn websites, was smoking pot. This guy told me to get so high that I didn't know my name. I did, and it helped a lot. It eased the head / flu symptoms.
I despise that drug. I could go on for hours. I tried to join the class-action.
I am so glad I am not on it anymore. I really feel for you bro.Comment

If you have kids, pets a wife, you will be best to be away from them to just struggle. I couldn't have handled someone seeing me like that. Honestly, having a girl in your bed when you awake in paranoa, or a screaming kid, would just be a bad deal for so many reasons.
Honestly, it took me about 10 solid painful days to come off of 20, then about another 10 to lose some of the lingering flu symptoms. I had to cancel flights, hotel reservations....I was traveling South America when I ran out.

Dude. VERY small percentage of users of Paxil experience that. You are over the deep end on this topic obviously because you had problems with the med. I took Paxil for 6+ years and quit it cold turkey. Yeah, I felt like I had the flu for about 4-5 days. Boo fucking hoo. Drink 3 cans of Mountain Dew a day for six years then quit it cold turkey and see what happens. Of course there's tons of horror stories on the net about it... tens of millions are taking it, so 1/100th of 1 percent complaining makes a lot of complaints. Dishing out your little horror story as something that WILL happen to all users is pure bullshit and you should stfu before you prevent someone from possibly finding an effective treatment for a problem.Originally posted by WEG Cory

I despise Glaxo-Smith-Klein. I believe they knowingly created Paxil to be that addicting. The withdrawls are so nasty, even if you ween off, that most people go back on it.
