When we were kids (35 years ago) my older brothers used to say "looks like your face chased a fart through a bag of nails" and "Your face looks like it was lit on fire and someone beat it out with a greasy bicycle chain" and my personal favorite "Is that your face or did you block a kick?"
Her face reminded me of those.
