The only reference that I would make to it is that the language it uses is foul, and only used by the ignorant and stupid, and that most of the values glorified by it are those of criminals that usually end up dead or in Jail.

Kids are VERY influenced by what they hear. It helps to determine how they speak, and what they value. They are like little sponges.
There is enought bad stuff out there that you have no choice but to deal with as a parent, without actually actively allowing or encouraging those influences
