I feel like I am losing myself...

don't know what's happening to me lately... but I feel fucking lost

it is becomming very difficult for a guy my age to run 2 businesses and attend school at the same time.

I also have the habbit of going out every night to restaurants...

I am getting less than 3 hours of sleep a day, as you can see, the past 2 weeks I have not posted much on GFY because of the lack of time on my hands...

I don't know, I have very bad stomach and appetite problems, I have many memory loss problems where I Don't remember at all what I spoke to Person A and Person B about, or even when I have to FIND person A or person B, I completely forgot who they were...

I feel like I need to be sleeping more, but it's very difficult for me to do so, because of the priorities I set in my head

every hour I stay up more makes me alot of money the next day, I have some projects that I have started and stil havent finished after quite some time because I am choosing to sleep and go out instead of doing them.

the more the days pass by, the more I am expanding my business, making more and more money every day, and my biggest problem of all is that I feel that School is conflicting with this... it is literally cutting my day in half...

I take 7 classes per semester, my days are usually from 8am-3pm, I am a fulltime student, I get home and try to work as much as possible without procrastinating, but I get such little sleep that I have to nap as soon as I get home!

and now I am late for my reading assignment, got to read fucking Lord of the Rings part 1 for monday

and not only that, I am having some problems deciding what to do with my money, I REALLY need a good accountant, and FAST, my fathers' is a jackass that will tell me to declare bankrupsy, just like he advised my father a few years ago

and now I got a new girlfriend, which I care for very much, she is adorable, but what Im saying is that its just another thing I have to think about

how am I supposed to manage to Run my internet business, my mainstream business, go to school, eat, take my shower, get some sleep, manage to go out and spend time with my friends and ponder on what I have to ponder on a daily basis?

You definitely need rest.. very hard to make good decisions without a clear mind. Sleep deprivation can cause serious problems... both emotional and physical.

I would take a pass on school for now and finish up later on.

You've got things going great for you so you already know everyting you need to know for being successful and making money. Putting your college studies on the shelf for a couple years won't matter.

I left midway through my college studies also. It was just impossible for me to focus on studying ridculous subjects when the only interests that I liked were all business related and I quickly realized college wasn't teaching me anything that would make me money.

You have to balance out your priorities each day. Break down your life into sectors. Prioritize each and then keep everything organized in a PDA or task list you carry with you everywhere.

It might also be time to delegate your tasks and get a personal assistant. Its very hard to find someone who can keep up with our types of personalities, that never stop working and playing for that matter, but they are out there. Male or female if you can find someone to be your trusted aide it will relieve a lot of the load.

I'd put school on hold. You can always go back. With business you don't have that luxury.

I'd also recommend taking up meditation each day.

Go to the ocean, a forest, by a creek, near a mountain, by yourself. Let everything go. Relax and just listen to the sounds of nature. Its very peaceful and incredibly tranquil out there and you'll come to look forward to the quiet moments every day.

I like taking long walks and going bike riding late at night when its nice and quiet out. No cars on the streets. No noise. Just hearing the crickets chirping away.

Do you have a dog? Animals are great for stress relief.

Good advice...I have my CEO kitty Oscar that keeps me sane...she doesn't like me taking so many breaks though

how do you find time to do that though?

I am planning on taking a weekend trip to costa rica or something, and open an offshore account while Im at it...

and yeah, I have a really cute dog

I wish I would meditate... maybe I have to completely reorganize my life...

Thats why I go fishing. Gets me mind off of this shit long enough to refresh me good... If i dont go fishing for more then a week I get all fucked up... There is nothing like being on the water listening to mother rnature whisper to you.

I don't know how your personality is but I hate sleep. I'm overwhelmed with shit to do too but I like it that way. When I don't keep myself slammed I feel like I'm missing something. I've tried it, hated it, now I work till I pass out.

But I would definately skip school for now.

with this being said, any pointers on the best way to going about hiring someone to work for you that can actually get the job you want done?

how do you find what you're looking for is what I mean... it's tough to find a hard working person, especially when they are allowed to work from home.

I've tried many times and just haven't got the dedication that I feel I could have gotten if I had someone looking over their shoulder from time to time.

I currently work from home and wouldn't mind working out of an office, but then again there's that overhead of office space, etc. I never made the move yet, so I guess I'm looking for that extra push. It seems nearly impossible to find dedicated employees that are allowed to telecommute from the start.

So I decided to get married to the great gal I had been engaged to and settled the pace down and started to set aside time for just me each day. Alone time. Quiet time. I started to get up at sunrise, hop in my SL with the top down and cruise out to Malibu and just listen to the waves, then go zooming up PCH several times a week.

Sailing and boating are great for stress relief too. I enjoy both of those hobbies too.

Speaking of hobbies that's great for release too. Nature photography is fun. Collecting things.

But more than anything I think you should get a personal assistant. Not just partners like you mentioned I do that too and it still doesn't relieve the personal tasking load. You really need someone to be with you and know everything so they can help you lessen the load and take care of the time consuming stuff.

Yeh, its very very very hard to find someone. I've got one now but it does take a lot of searching.

No real advice on this other than you have to go scouting and hope you get lucky. And if you find a good one take damn good care of them financially so they stay with you.

Put it off for a few man, if you're writing your own checks a degree won't get you a raise.

You've probably learned more about biz from experience than another 2-4 years anywhere will teach you. Unless you plan on working for someone right after school I'd keep rolling with your current biz plans. They're paying your bills now and I'm sure you're smart enough to make sure that they keep paying them in the future.

Unless you want to brag agout a degree I don't think you need it right now. 5 years ago... RIGHT out of high school at 18, I went to work for a consulting firm in san francisco (programming). 6 months into my entry level (45k) position I got a raise and promoted. I was a senior developer in charge of 4 people that had degrees. They hated me

Anyway, they went bankrupt during the whole dotcom bust. And now im here

It's all about skills and being able to get the job done.

Well what I did and still do is focus on having businesses that are autopilot types. Where once you do the setup they are easy to manage and run and don't require a lot of your time to maintain.

I avoid businesses that have that corporate demand, although recently I've started doing those again since I've really mastered managing my time now and have lots of great partners doing the grunt work.

But yes, if your businesses require your time and you kick back too much the income will go down. Even with partners you still have to keep a handle on things.

You sound like a good guy who's got too much on his plate, man.

But that's a good thing! You are in a place right now where you can truly pick and choose what is important to you and slowly shave off the things that aren't ... or that can wait until later.

It sounds like you have a GREAT start in business, and as has been said many times, going to school right now won't necessarily help you do what you want to do. But that doesn't mean you need to stop going completely, at the very least cut it down to 1 or 2 classes per semester, that will buy you an extra 3-4 hours a day. And if you do that, don't instantly fill those hours with other things. Let that be free time for a while, and selectively fill those hours with things that will help you sustain the rest of your schedule and your life ... which may turn out to be leaving them as 'free time' for good.

I currently work from home and wouldn't mind working out of an office, but then again there's that overhead of office space, etc. I never made the move yet, so I guess I'm looking for that extra push. Everybody goes through those phases man. you gotta reshift your time and put things in priority of importance. Sit down and write down the things in your day that have a positive effect on your life, and focus on those things only.

you dont want to be one of those dicks with a masters degree and still working in a supermarket or working a shit job for the man.

unless you want a job with less pay and less freedom, why bother with college at all?

i think we all feel like that at times.........myself included. i'll break it down for you the way i see this........

go where the money is........if you can make a great living in this business, i say do so and reprioritize everything else as money means security and freedom to do what you want.......

along with focusing on this biz, you need to rest! sleep is probably the most underrated activity to maintain yourself, along with decent eating habits and some exercise.

you are burning out, my friend. make sleep a real priority, and even naps, man, who out there doesn't like a great 15 minute nap? can completely recharge one's batteries......

so focus on the money, and when you work, work hard, and then rest

Let me give you a little advice. I started the buisness in 98 when I was 18. Was making great money and was going to school full time. Everything I had I built my own. I never had time for anything. I was a walking zombie. So I decided to put buisness on hold and finish school. A year later my grandmother got really sick who is my gaurdian. Her medical didn't cover all her bills so I paid for it out of my pocket lost all the money I earned put me in debt with a year of school left.

I was rock bottom near homeless eating Ramon noodles to survive. I quit school got my CCNA for giggles and went back into buisness and back on my feet making more money then most people with a any type of degree.
