Google PR officially means nothing My PR rose to 6 but my traffic from Google falls 50%
SEO guys how can this happen Ive done nothing different, any scenarios?
Well I have come to the conclusion Google no longer lives by its motto - dont be evil - they accept adult industry money yet dont allow us to use thier advertising program, they hand out PR like candy then give SERPs to fucking page farms, all the while blatantly violating multiple copyright laws. Sigh sorry just bitching today Google sucks.
There is a big difference between PR in the toolbar and real PR - real PR makes all the difference in the world to your site - unfortunately Google stopped showing that a year ago at the same time they stopped showing all your backlinks. The toolbar PR runs about 3 months behind and is just a snapshot at one moment wheras real PR is constantly updated just like the SERPs - so if you think in terms of PageRank (PR) which is the whole basis of Googles algorithm - then you can get way ahead - if you trade and conduct biz based on the toolbar - well youre doing exactly what Google wants you to do to handle people that trade based on the toolbar

Where do you come up with this stuff? I have a site that is three months old, with a PR4, 90+ backlinks, and just a quick scan I see links that are 2 weeks old.

Do you have evidence to back this up, I mean Im not ATTEMPTING to trade links based on Google PR. Im not attempting to play any game with the search engines so why should I lose SERPs to page farms?

If you need evidence I believe Matt Cutts (Googles lead engineer for the algo) has a blog that you should be able to find real quick with a search in Google - and he explains how the PR on the toolbar works and all of these other things. Basically what it boils down to is about 2 years ago, people discovered that you could buy expired domains, and load them with whatever content you wanted - they would keep their pagerank from Google since they were only updating every month back then - and it would take forever to lose the pagerank on expired domains.
Googles response to that problem, as well as a few very public debacles (search for SearchKing) about buying and selling links based on PR, and they had had enough - so early last year a pretty good SEO recommended to Googleguy at one of the SEO conventions that they ought to show a "sample" of links and do something about the link buying/selling game - and they did. Along with this came the "rolling updates" where Google is constantly updating SERPs, pagerank and links - this started last year also - and most people that follow Google a lot have known about this for a long time.
Unfortunately there are still a good percentage of people that are still trying to trade based on PR in the toolbar and its a real shame as most of the good link trades out there are being overlooked.
Some of us that have been around the game for a bit have gone to NOT trading if someone mentions PR - as its usually a good sign they dont know what they are doing

I dont think you understand what I am saying. I DONT trade based on PR at all, I hardly trade links period, I am even linked voluntarily by many large websites for my content. I was asking how can I lose SERPs to page farms and gain PR it doesnt make sense thats all. Google basically took away some SERPs from me but gave me a bonus in the form of PR? This is not a GAME to me I am not playing Mr SEO blackhat or whitehat.. is that why I am losing SERPs because I dont play the game like you do?
