So we're down to two processors now....FUCK

With Paycom's purchase of Jettis and Ibill's imminent demise that leaves paysites with only 2 IPSP's to handle their credit card transactions.

What effect do you think this will have on our business as a whole, and how long before we feel the impact?

There's atleast one more 3rd party processor in the works right now from what I've heard via my contacts. Domestic, and backed by a pretty well known bank.

                That's a very naive statement.
Newbies who work part time can still process with CCbill and Epoch....that's not the issue.

I agree with the earlier statement that processing rates will go up due to webmasters not having any other options.

Anyone who thinks this is good for our business or anyone in it must be smoking some really strong shit.

You think a company like Ibill is rock solid and an industry leader and now it looks like it may be near the end.

I don't think netbilling is an IPSP....they're a gateway provider for people with their own merchant accounts.

I forgot about verotel.....aren't they one of those processors that all the small fries ran to in order to avoid paying the $750 Visa fee awhile back?

Yeah, violating Visa's cross border settlement rules is a really good long term business strategy.

Both CCBill and Epoch seem to be up to the task and are planning ahead - They've seen too many credit card processing companies go down in the past two years.

And I'm hearing rumors of a well established company opening up shop in the credit card processing area.

not everyone is based in of the US or using US processors . . . what do you think Verotel is?

I am not suggesting someone use CCBill with ECG

I guess you mean the pockets of the people on welfare, because higher taxes isn't going to put more money in anyone elses pockets

You will see another 3rd party biller coming into the game probably during the 2nd or 3rd quarter 2005, backed by a very well known bank, but operating under a seperate shell for adult (so the operation doesn't take a 'wholesome' brand identity and have it associated with porn.)

Yeah, violating Visa's cross border settlement rules is a really good long term business strategy.
Sounds like a "learned" thing about offshore :-)

Offshore has nothing to do with violating VISA's cross border rules. Offshore does not mean non-compliance with any VISA "laws".

Offshore can, in many cases, be a very good situation for third party processing - it gets the operation out of what is an "unfriendly environment".

I'd think there will be others considering an offshore scenario - I know of one at the moment. At a guess, there is also going to be some more hope within Europe to do some processing.

And I'm hearing rumors of a well established company opening up shop in the credit card processing area.

                                                          Very true.

We supply porn at the cheapest level, the more money in Joe Ordinary's pockets the more he will spend in the economy. Thus giving more to us.

The big problem with this industry is our reliance on third party processors and our "image" with bankers. When they see us for what most of uas are then maybe they will have less problems dealing with us.

At the moment they see us as not worth the effort, even if more Internet Processors open up who's to say they will deal with porn?

This industry needs to stop trying to support Paypal and switch over to the others who do want us. There is also MoneyBookers who are growning well

Ok perhaps I should have specified processors that US based companies can use.

While there are lots of webmasters outside of the U.S., the vast majority of the "big players" that the small webmasters depend on for payments are US based companies and have to play by Visa US rules.

Moving offshore is a much bigger undertaking than just switching links on a join page and filing articles of incorporation in the Caymans.

It has just as many disadvantages as advantages.

They take our UK debit cards as well.. Plus they offer SMS, dialler and chat line services. I use them on my three pay sites as secondary to CCBill and of course for those in the UK who don't have a cc, only Switch or Solo cards

They pay straight in to your bank acct 35 days after the end of a month and I haven't had one problem with them in 2 years.

As with Verotel where you need to have Dutch incorporation, Global will accept webmasters who have a UK presence ...

I for one am very happy using Paycom as my primary processor. They have been great to me from day 1 . However I also have CCBill as a backup but I prefer using Paycom over CCBill any day.

For what it's worth both Paycom and CCBill has excellent management and great support staff with a solid foundation. And I hope these guys will be around for a very long time.

I've got burnt twice with processors and now that I am using these guys I feel very secure.
