Kenosha Man Accused Of Stabbing Wife 16 Times
Husband Expected To Face Charges Of Attempted Homicide

KENOSHA, Wis. -- A Kenosha man is behind bars after an argument about going to church went too far.
He's accused of stabbing his wife 16 times.
"I was really shocked. I didn't know what was going on, and I just couldn't believe it. My main concern was just to get the kids out of there," neighbor Melissa Tidwell said.
Police said the victim's husband put their three children in a closet before he allegedly stabbed his wife.
"The officers on scene said it was one of the bloodiest scenes they've seen in a long time. She lost so much blood," Kenosha Police Lt. John Morrissey said.
The couple's daughter somehow escaped from the closet and got to a phone, police said.
Police arrived to find the mother and the daughter both alive. The daughter had been stabbed in the head.
The 13-year-old has been released from the hospital. Her mother is still hospitalized, but police told 12 News she's expected to recover.
The suspect is expected to be charged with two counts of attempted first-degree intentional homicide Tuesday.
The couple's other two children at home when the stabbing occurred were not hurt.
