I used to tease my sister that she was in love with him. She loved Pee Wee's playhouse but if you see the older videos of his Pee Wee's Playhouse stage show it wasn't at all for kids. I bet that was odd for him to have to tone it down and suddenly be a kids idol.

he is not a criminal, and it is my opinion that pee wee's playhouse should still be on tv and kids should watch it (and adults). it was my kids' favorite show.
it was simply the most creative kid's show in the history of television---and adults could watch it and get a laugh because of a lot of the scripts were tailored to appeal to adults---it's just the little kids got it one way, and the adults got it a different way.
