I saw a special on Discovery a couple weeks back about this, it was really interesting. Geologists have found that there was a major quake off of the Oregon/Washington Coast about 300 years ago. The program also went into detail on how the geologists discovered the quake and it was again, really interesting. They went on to outline the pattern of Super Quakes over the past few thousand years. There were a few instances of 300 year differences but also instances of 600 and 1000 year differences. So its pretty hard to speculate when the quake could go. It could be due next week, or it could be due in another 300 years.
It would basically cause another major tsunami for the Northwest Coast, have impact on Hawaii, Japan, and even some of the southern Pacific Islands.
