Actually, if you paid attention, instead of listening to histerical partisan rhetoric, you would notice that all the ridiculous and crappy anti-obscenity
legistlation is coming from BOTH sides of the fence. This is coming from people pressuring their representatives.... of BOTH parties, to do something about the porn that is so available online. I don't agree with it, but if you believe that it is only coming from republicans, I think that you are completely fooling yourself.
The reason why these laws are coming down is that the average persons attitude has changed. Polititians of BOTH sides are responding to pressure from their most active constituents. Regardless of who wins the next set of elections, the pressure on this industry is not going to change ONE BIT. The thing that congressmen listen to most of all is real honest communications from their constituents in their own districts, and this is what those guys are hearing from the people that actually vote for them.
As for new regulations on the industry, we have been operating pretty much wide open for the last 10 years. Even with the latest regulations, we STILL don't have even 20% of the regulations that the average resturant owner has to deal with.
I have to say that a lot of people I have heard whining about the regs that we have to follow would be aghast at what they would have to deal with in owning your average retail food business.
That doesn't mean that I like it, but it does mean that I'm grown up enought to deal with it.
and by the way, this has nothing to do with the point of my thread.
