The servers being located in the Netherlands means there out of the jurisdiction of the individual states to shut down or confiscate. -
From freechris.org
"The site continues to remain up as it is hosted in the Netherlands, and not bound by Florida law."
Something to think about?????Comment

Many issues at law still remain unanswered. If Chris Wilson's servers were in Polk County, the site would be down as would his revenue stream.Originally posted by directfiestaAs long as out of the US, servers will remain up.

A big question is where is the point of publication. Where the content was created, hosted or viewed? If viewed then Polk County could go after the all of the adult side of the Internet.
They took his computers, so they will claim he was in possession of obscene material I suspect. If you stored all your work, content and backups off site and your PCs where taken with a warrant, all the police would have is a copy of a program like VNC to look at or maybe terminal services....
Just thinking out loud. Offshore servers don't solve the whole problem, but it is a start. Got money? You can have a foreign corporation and your whole operation could be in another country.Comment
