If you can make it up north to Chang Mai I'd highly suggest it. It's more of a chill little town, without the complete madness that is Bangkok.
As for Bangkok, man it doesn't matter where you go...that place is insane. Be careful though, you will have a new respect for the word "Tranny" when you leave....they are everywhere, seriously.
Oh, and don't try to get places on a tourist bus. Scammers, all of em.. buy a real cab, it might cost you a few bucks more but they won't stop at all their friends stores and try to get you to shop instead of taking you to your actual destination.
Hong Kong is always cool, although the old Hong Kong I used to hang out in is long gone. A mere 20 years ago you could still stroll through the Walled City (and possibly come back alive). You could go to Wanchai where they filmed "The World of Suzy Wong" and still see back alley hookers, and the harbor was full of stateless boat people.
Today, it looks like any city in the world. Could be in London or in New York if it wasn't for all the Chinese. Everybody speaks English now and restuarants serve American food.
Be sure and check out a movie theater if you have time. They play western movies with Chinese subtitles, and you buy reserved seats.
But most of all, the place has been ruined by the fucking mainland Chinese. I liked it better when you had to brush your teeth in gin to be safe...

I was last there in '85 and loved it. I gotta go back, I bet it would be a shock now.
