    Failed contest thread - suggestion

    There is some pathetic shit going on on this board. With the regards to the failed logo design contest that obviously left tons of designers off without being eventually paid for their work, I have the following suggestion.

    For the future, the contest money should be deposited with a trusted source (perhaps with the GFY crew, or otherwise) beforehand. Otherwise, no contests such as the screwed.com thread should be allowed. After the decision would be made (since it had been already paid for), the company would get their logo and there'd be no questions about the validity of the thread to begin with.

      I agree. My wife is a designer and she NEVER participates.

      She built a tour for a contest one time and presented it and the thread was dropped and the starters never responded. I don't know if they stole all of the tours or what.

      This has happened many times in the past on this board. It's a fucked up deal.

          And if no decision would be made by the company seeking a new logo until a certain deadline? Fuck 'em, have the masses decide the winner and he/she would end up paid for his/her work by Lensman or whoever.

          It is bullshit to lure designers into a well-paying contest and then ignoring it and hoping for it to disappear.

                  it would probably drop the amount of contests going on on GFY and therefore give more attention to those who deserve it. i say thumbs up
