If there is one thing which one should have learned from WW2 is that if an ideology is dedicated to your destruction, as the Nazi ideology was dedicated to the destruction of the Jews/ Gypsies/ blacks/ asians/ gays/ slavs/ handicapped people, then it cannot be reasoned with and it cannot be done deals with. The only way to stop an ideology like that is to defeat it. If someone was trying to kill you, would you shake his hand or would you fight back?
