i would expect a thank you, i know me personally whenever i recieve any sort of gift it is naturl to say thank you.
but if they are happy with it, that is a thank you in itself. some people just do not say thank you, have met alot of those kinds of people, it doesnt necessarily mean that they do not appreciate it.
