As Quiet says, why would you sell a paysite for 3/6/12 months of profit if you can just run it another 3/6/12 months and save you the trouble.
How Much Is A Paysite Worth That Is Bringing in $18-20,000 A Month?

Hey guys/gals, sorry to but in; this post has got my interest...
My site www.eroticars.com has exclusive content and has never been marketed & has no affiliates, what would you suggest as my next step?
I don't have the time to put into it anymore, should I sell, or get someone to help market it on a profit share?

Hi DH,
Just curious, is it possible the ccbill/epoch/icbill whatever processors just change the account info, so you will be the new owner, and get the money. I always thought this was not possible, and you had to change all these customers to your own account by mailing them(unless they have a merchant account)
I could be wrong, but it won't hurt to check

Hi Andre, in this particular situation it would be very easy to switch over the ownership of the site and the payouts.Originally posted by justsexxx

If the processing is for a company specifically created for a single site, and the company itself is being sold, that shouldn't be a problem.Originally posted by justsexxx

Are you nuts?
You'd have to be pretty desparate and plain stupid to sell a biz for 3 month's earnings, unless it was a dog with fleas about to go under and you're trying to do a bailout.
man, selling such an asset for the profit it makes in 3 months... that's just stupid
I would think, if someone is not truly desperate for the instant money, he should only sell it for the price that would allow him to retire and not worry about shit.Comment

nowhere near comparable transactions. the discount rate that you would use for an adult website would be much higher than you would use for insurance businesses.Originally posted by SleazyDream
insurance businesses usually went for 1-3 years earnings - gross
6 months net earnings would work, with adjustments made if there's exclusive content and looking at some other factors.Comment

Lots of factors involved. If the traffic is primarily type-in, it is worth alot more as it has intrinsic value.
I'd pay $100k.

That's a great list of thing to consider. The traffic is really important. If you buy it are you going to need to keep adveritsing spots or have somebody submitting galleries and free sites consistantly to keep the revenue up?Originally posted by codymc12
I would base it on a few factors:
A. Statistically proven retention. In other words, how long would it make that 18 - 20k with no new traffic.
B. What traffic it brings with it. EG - are you going to continue to get signups without providing traffic yourself? If so, how much, and factored into (A)
C. Content costs.
D. Statistically proven conversion ratios. If you are going to supply traffic, how will it convert based on past provable stats?
IMO, those would be the base factors....Comment
