Its gotta be pretty depressing for the guy. He knows that if he losses, thats it. No chance of ever becoming president. I'm sure the guy works hard and believes in what he represents. I respect him but politics does ugly things to people. I think he knows he sacrificed things he believes in to try and win this one.

I agree. about 4 years ago he started doing an about face. He started cuddling with Bush and realizing he needed the religous nutjobs in order to win the election and Bush could help him get them. I think he started selling himself out then for a shot to win this time around.

He came back from the dead to win the primaries and a month ago he suddenly started leading in the polls. Palin looked like a game changer and the republican convention made it seem like the party was rallying around him.

A month later he is on the canvas. The far right still isn't convinced he is the right guy. A lot of republicans don't like his ideas and support of the bailout and now Palin has more haters than lovers. His hail mary passes haven't seemed to work and Obama is leaving him behind in the polls. He has to be feeling pretty shitty right now. If he loses, he is done and his dream of being president, which he has been working towards for more than 10 years is gone.
