I sure as hell wouldn't... So why is this election even close...

Am I the only one concerned that the democratic candidates don't think its neccessary to attend Senate meetings or Intelligence committee's? Or whatever else they are supposed to attend but don't?

hahaha, you should run for democratic office... thats all you need to do.. is when asked why you havent done your job properly... "well, umm, its the wrong war at the wrong time"... just say something completely irrelvant thats negative about your competition.... ohh and if you have to make some things up.. go right ahead...

Bush was on vacation 42% of the time, from the point he was elected thru 9/11.

                Spend you some brain.

So let me get this straight, if you are smarter then the rest of your coworkers.. you dont have to show up... you just have to get the report?

Of course, you need to assume that kerry is smarter then the others.. for that argument.. which is a stretch

so it that why Bush seems to spend about 35% of every year on a "working vacation " on his ranch.

I'm sure he works while he's down there, just like I'm sure Edwards and Kerry work when they are away from the senate building.

Well, yes if this where true... I can honestly say.. i know bush does work from his ranch etc... As proven when the media reports he met with such and such officials...

Its pretty common for senators to not show up for all the meetings. Most have other jobs of some sort. They get briefed on all the meetings and what is going on. They are going to miss a lot of meetings while they are out campaigning obviously.

I tend to show up for work every day.

However, perhaps you need to look at why he wasn't doing his job that day? Was he out fishing, or did he have another meeting / hearing on the other side of town that prevented him from attending the other event? Can't be in two places at once, can he?

Yea, but Kerry miseed something like 76% of the intelligence committee meetings he was supposed to attend...

missing one or 2 is one thing.. but 76% when we have a the collossal intelligence problem that we have? Wheres the accountability that he preaches of?

And Edwards is known as the most absent senator.... This shouldnt be acceptable for a vice president...

That is rediculus, if it was a commitee about protecting the the national parks.... then i can see it being ok to get the cliff notes.... and do whats appropriate later... but intelligence.. when the 911 commission has said the intelligence community is the main culprit to the 911 tragedy? I think you should show up for that one...

Kerry's job is to win this election and take back this country from the religious fanatics who would force us all to obey their biblical interpretation of the law. Kerry's job is to protect the Supreme Court, the last line of defense for civil liberties, from anti-constitutional appointments. Kerry's job is to crush the criminals who have corrupted this country with lies, creating death and turning the US into a global pariah. We have never been so hated and the anti-american army is now millions strong in a hundred countries all because of the madman we have in office today. If Kerry doesn't win, if average americans are seen as supporting the actions of this president over the last 4 years, then we will all be held accountable. It is very likely that the divisions forged by this administration could result in a war that will cost millions of lives, and this election could be our last chance to diffuse that hostility.

I think most of the allegations from both sides can be dismissed as political bullshit. cheney says edwards doesn't show up 76% of the time but we don't know why or what the average is ( not excusing him for this just wondering why ) it sounds bad but if that is the norm for all senators then it's not so bad. Cheney says that Kerry voted for higher taxes 98 times but then Edwards shoots back the Kerry voted for lower taxes 900+ times so who is right.
We only get the satement. Not the resons for the truth.

My favorite is the bill that they say Kerry voted against that would give flak jackets and supplies to our troops. They don't mention that this was a small add on to a huge bill that was filled with overspending on things that had nothing to do with the military. What is more telling to me is that Bush has tried to lower the pay of our soliders in combat.. . how is that supporting our troops?

We have never been so hated and the anti-american army is now millions strong in a hundred countries all because of the madman we have in office today. If Kerry doesn't win, if average americans are seen as supporting the actions of this president over the last 4 years, then we will all be held accountable. It is very likely that the divisions forged by this administration could result in a war that will cost millions of lives, and this election could be our last chance to diffuse that hostility.

Where do you get your propaganda from? Sounds like someone has you plenty scared.... Its a good thing you werent German in the 1930's... youd have a lot of guilty feelings to account for then...

sure, if you look at the amount of time that they took off to run their campaigns. That's nothing new really, McCain probably took quite a bit of time off to run his campaign.

Cheney says that Kerry voted for higher taxes 98 times but then Edwards shoots back the Kerry voted for lower taxes 900+ times so who is right.

My favorite is the bill that they say Kerry voted against that would give flak jackets and supplies to our troops. They don't mention that this was a small add on to a huge bill that was filled with overspending on things that had nothing to do with the military. What is more telling to me is that Bush has tried to lower the pay of our soliders in combat.. . how is that supporting our troops?
no, kerry doesnt show up for 76% of the intelligence committee meetings... edwards is worse and is the most absent senator....

they are both right on taxes.... but kerry's record is to increase taxes... can you think of 604 tax decreases in the last 20 years? thats rediculus so what they are including is minor things.. that are probably attached to other bills....

and this was no small add on to the huge bill.. he voted against the 87 billion... the total cost of the war so far has been 120 billion.. thats a good percent...

about the lobbeying to lower compat pay.. ive heard that both ways that they did more for the vets then anyone.... but i dont know all the facts on that to help you...

Showing up to work on time is over rated...

If ya do your work and its good nothing to worry about.
But then I never been at the mercy of a time clock or such hourly type jobs.

I create things, not help sell things.

                                                  SO...

Yeah I would promote them if the work is sound and consistant and on time. But most importantly if the work gets results.

Bush would have been fired from my kitchen on sept 11th, no questions asked.

the bill cheney is talking about that would give flak jackets and supplies to the troops is no the 87 billion dollar bill it was a different bill completly seperate from that one. I'll see if I can find it.

as for the tax increases and decreases I agree most of them are on small bills add on. But you could say the same for the tax increases I would like see how many of those bills where he supposedly voted to raise taxes were actual tax bills and not tax stuff as small add ons.

the pay thing was all over the news and mostly effected the called up national guards people. They wanted to decrease the amount of danger pay the national guard soldiers got because they were not full time enlisted personel.
