    Debate: Knockout Blow?

Edwards said Bush claims to be a uniter and not a divider... then asks if America has ever been more divided.

I hope they keep this in the campaign and use it a lot!

every 4 years the country is divided... dems and repubs... then it cools off for 3 years, and then flares back up.

Nothing divides a country like unemployment.

Too bad they're going to repeat over and over again on network TV that this was a draw, or that the knockout punch came from CHENEY on God knows what, any bullshit they can find.

I'd love it if this debate helped Kerry, but how much do vice presidential debates really matter?

I can't see how this debate could help kerry.... edwards couldnt defend the flip flops or the record.... all he could do is keep throwing half truths out that were off topic....

but vp debates dont really do much.. but kerry was just hoping that edwards could re-enforce the bounce he had.. but even before this debate.... it was subsiding...

this is the real essence of the democracy but on the end of the day we have to be united for the betterment of the country.

Bullshit. In August of 1996 the unemployent rate was 5.1 percent. It is now at 5.4 percent. Not to mention the 10.4 million jobs that had been created under Clinton compared to the 1 million jobs lost under Bush.

In addition, the unemployment rate does not count all the people who are forced into part-time work because of the weakness in the labor market.
