I have to say the whole Burning Man festival is a bit much to take in. It's completely surreal for the uninitiated like me.

Human culture thrives on togetherness and commonality, even if that commonality comes from extreme individuality such as at the Burning Man festival. I think that some of it's precepts as I understand them are far more healthy than Western religions which require one to abide by the rules that may or may not make sense.

It may be unfair to call Burning Man a religion but it surely is a spiritual event for those who attend. I will have to check it out sometime, just for the experience.
