I wear contacts for 16-18 hours every day, no problems..
there are different kinds and makes, go to a good doctor and test them out (I know they tortured me with "try these and these and these", I switched like 7-8 kinds of lenses during a 2-hour exam, but it was worth it, after putting these on, I forget that I have them).Custom adult games / apps for your paysites.

I'm one of the lucky ones. I leave mine in for 3 months+ and even scuba dive. My optometrist freaks out every time I go and visit him but he has never found any problems with my eyes.Comment

I wear mine all day, probably 10-12 hours at computer. No problems really.
Anybody order from 1800contacts.com? I've been using them for about 4 years now, great service.Vacares - Web Hosting, Domains, O365, Security & More - Paxum and BTC Accepted

Yo Kev, you're pushing your luck. I keep mine in for up to 3 weeks and thats technically 1 week over the safety zone. But they usually don't start to feel like they need a change til then. Sometimes I've gone 4 weeks without any discomfort.Originally posted by Kevin2

What you have to watch for is pseudomonus bacteria. My ex got that and got a permenant corneal scar from it.
Your choice, but going 90 days is a big risk.

I have permanent damage to my cornea from wearing my contacts too much. But things have gotten much better since I've been wearing my glasses most of the time for the last few months. It's scary when you find out that you have permanently fucked up your vision...you only get one set of eyes!Comment

I pay $20 for a box of 6. I take mine out every night but I use fresh lenses every 2-3 weeks or whenever the lens starts to feel "off".Originally posted by Soul_Rebel
i think KRL is right on this, although mine are monthly I got advised by the optician to change them every 3 weeks. How much do you pay for them in states?Vacares - Web Hosting, Domains, O365, Security & More - Paxum and BTC Accepted

I wear contacts, not the disposable ones, but the ones that last up to a yr. Sometimes my eyes do water a lot, but I don't know if it's my lens, or my eye makeup; i wear a lot of mascara and eyeliner and that could also be contributing to it...
I always wear glasses inside my house to let my eyes breathe, but never out in public, always wear contacts when I leave my house.Comment

Kevin2 - it all depends on your eyes, the type of lens wear & how often you rinse them.Originally posted by Kevin2
Wow thanks for that info on pseudomonus bacteria KRL. I will start removing them every few weeks then.
There are lenses that are made to keep in for 30 days - non-stop
Focus Night'n Day - CibaVision
There are lenses for people with sensitive eyes or who's lenses dry their eyes - it's usually a bi-weekly or monthly wear lense & has high water content
Proclear Compatibles from Biocompatibles
There are lenses that are regular or mass-market type lenses that are either bi-weekly or daily lenses that you either remove & wash at the end of the day or you throw them out.
Acuvues - Biomedics/Omni-Flex - Bausch & Lomb
If you keep them in for 90days - make sure you are cleaning them daily - especially if you're doing any water or sand sports!Comment

Thanks for all the info TopBucksTrixxxia
Unfortunately I have been doing this for close on to 20 years now and I must break this habit of leaving them in for so long. The ones I use are Focus Night & Day.

Well Focus Night & Day aren't meant to be removed - they are made to allow more oxygen to get through & if you remove them to wash them, they get damaged.Originally posted by Kevin2

If you wear them underwater & doing sports/work in dusty environments, you should be wearing something that you remove & wash daily.
NP for the info ;)Comment

There could be many factors effecting your comfort.
~how old are the lenses?
~do you wear them more days than the dr recommends?
~how many hours a day do you wear them?
~do you drink enough water? Drink a lot of alcohol?
~do you ever let your eyes have a break from them and wear glasses?
~how far away from your computer screen do you sit?
~how well-lit is your office area?
~does your computer screen have a non-glare coating?
~how long since you saw your optometrist?
~how old is your Rx?
~your corneas can change shape over time and you will need a new fitting, possibly a different brand of lens
Any of these things (or a combination) could be the culprit. You need to go see your Dr, he/she's the only one who can tell for sure ...You only get one pair of eyes, don't fuck them up just to save a dime or because you're too busy or too lazy to make an appointment. I'm not saying that's the case with you, but I used to work in an Optometrist's office and I've seen all kinds of crazy things.Comment
